5 Day’s Camping Lushoto Hikking Mountains embraces the beautiful tropical forests which normally attracts a lot of native bird species which cannot be found elsewhere on earth, this consist of the USAMBARA WEAVER, USAMBARA ALETHE & NADUK EAGLE OWL. The Usambara mountains area is unspoiled for hiking and views of the Forest Mountains create a spectacular background for your trip.
Itinerary Detail
Day 1. Start from Lushoto to Magamba village
A drive start from Lushoto to Magamba village where the treks starts over the rain forest, farm land and traditional local villages to Lukozi overnight at the campsite, On the way you have a chance to see wildlife such as monkeys and chameleons.
Day 2. Walk Through Various Local Villages
Today the walking Starts just from the campsite after breakfast walk through various local villages and farm land to Rangwi nunnery for overnight at Rangwi campsite, meals can be prepared by the nuns on group request.Day 3. Climb Mzoghoti peak
Today you will have an option to climb Mzoghoti peak early in the morning around 5am or stay at camp working with the nuns on daily activities at the convent such as harvesting, cooking, washing dishes, watering the garden or take a little walk nearby the village.Day 4. Walk from the Convent Passing to various villages
After breakfast get yourself ready for a walk from the convent passing to various villages later visit pottery making women picnic lunch on the way and arrive Mtae in the late afternoon. Dinner & Overnight at the Lutheran church camp site. Later take an evening walk around the village of Mtae and the day will be ending slowly as you watching the sunset.Day 5. Walking Experience the beautiful view over Mazinde
Catch the transport early in the morning around 4:00 or 4:30 back to Lushoto and leave your bags at the campsite. After breakfast at the campsite, at about 10:00 AM, walk to Irente view point 4 hours walking experience the beautiful view over Mazinde and Sisal Farms down the Dar es salaam road. Later on the day back to camp pick up your luggage back to Moshi, Arusha or Dar es salaam to connect with other activities or a flight back home. • South African passport holders do NOT require a visa for Tanzania, however most other Nationalities require a visa for Tanzania 100$ for a Visa to the US, Canada and Australia passport
• Health requirements (Yellow Fever compulsory if traveling to Tanzania recommended)
• Highly recommended personal travel and medical insurance.
• Personal hiking/trekking gear – you can rent some of the gears from our store.
