Kilimanjaro Climbing 9 Days Rongai Route begins in Moshi and ending in Arusha, You may arrive anytime at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), The private transfer will be there waiting for you at the airport to transfer you to Mountain In Hotel Hotel in Moshi, Please note that all airport transfers are part of the package there will be no extra charges.
Itinerary Detailed
Day 1:Kilimanjaro Airport- Marangu
After the arrival at the Kilimanjaro international airport you will have a private transfer to Moshi at Mountain In Hotel for Dinner and overnight, You will meet you guides same evening for a pre-climbing briefing and climbing gears checkups. Also we will need to confirm that you have personal valid coverage travel insurance.
Day 2: Rongai Simba Camp
You will take a short drive to Marangu park gate to finish essential registration and official procedure, later the transfer to Rongai proceed. The trek will begin from Nale Moru Park Gate (6,400 ft) through a tiny path that winds over the maize and potato fields soon later you’ll start entering into a manmade pine forest. Then the track starts to become steep constantly, but through pretty forest that attracts variety of wildlife, together with the Colobus monkey. The monkeys can be quite easily spotted by their black color with a long ‘cape’ of white fur and a smooth white tail. Here the forest will now start to be thin at the edge of the moorland zone. We will take in the extroverted views over Kenyan plains as you will be arriving at the first campsite Rongai One Camp at (8,500 ft)-(3-4 hours Walking-Time).Day 3: Rongai Second Cave
The climb start after a breakfast though the morning walk is become a harder ascent up to the Second Cave (11,300 ft) with terrific views of Kibo and the Eastern Ice fields on the crater rim. After lunch, we will leave the main track and hit out heading southeast across the moorland on a slighter path towards the sharp peaks of Mawenzi. Our campsite will be settled in a sheltered valley, ornamented with giant senecios near Kikelewa Caves at (11,800 ft). (6-7 Hours Walking-Time)Day 4: Rongai Kikelelwa Cave
Today you will start with a short but steep climb which is rewarding you a superb all-around views and a substantial sense of wilderness. Vegetation zone will be behind you shortly before arriving at the next camp Mawenzi Tarn at (14,200 ft), amazingly the camp is situated in a cirque direct beneath to the towering spires of Mawenzi. The afternoon will be spent on your leisure resting or explore the surroundings area as an support to acclimatization. (3-4 Hours Walking-Time)Day 5: Mawenzi Turn
Today you have an extra acclimatization day you spend the day explore the area with a walk up to Saddle towards Camel’s Back then return back to the camp at Mawenzi Turn (14,200 ft). (2-3 Hours walking-Time)Day 6: Mawenzi Turn to Kibo Hut
You will cross the lunar desert of the saddle flanked by Mawenzi and Kibo to reach Kibo Hut (15,400 ft) at the base of the crater wall. The remains of the day time is spent resting in prepare yourself for an early morning final push the summit ascent. (5-6 Hours walking-Time)Day 7: Kibo Hut to Summit to Horrombo Hut
You start finalizing the hike while the most demanding part of the climb comes by 1 am you will be on your feet as you plod very slowly in the darkness through loose volcanic scree to get to the crater rim at Gillman’s Point (18,600 ft). here you may have a short time rest to enjoy the stunning sunrise over Mawenzi. For those who are still feeling stronger can make further three hour round trip to Uhuru Peak (19,345 ft), passing near to magnificent glaciers and ice cliff that still seen over most of the summit area. The descend to Kibo Hut (15,400 ft) is amazingly fast and, after some food and drinks then continue the descent to Horombo Huts (12,200 ft). (11-15 Hours walking-Time)Day 8: Horrombo Hut
Proceed descending down through the moorland to Mandara Huts (8,900 ft). you then continue descending through good-looking flourishing forest on a good path to Kilimanjaro National Park gate at Marangu (6,000 ft), where you will be transferred back to Moshi at Mountain In Hotel.Day 9: Departure day
After breakfast at the hotel you will have a private transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport, JRO where our service ends.
